A PASSPORT to eye-opening sessions on a WORLD of TOPICS
Internationally Acclaimed Author and Speaker Dr. Thomas Armstrong – Dr. Armstrong is an award-winning author and speaker with over thirty years of teaching experience from the primary through the doctoral level, and over one million copies of his books in print on issues related to learning and human development. His work as an educator and psychologist in the fields of multiple intelligences, ADD/ADHD, and the natural genius of kids is guided by his belief that all children are gifted: “Each child comes into the world with unique potentials that, if properly nourished, can contribute to the betterment of our world. The biggest challenge for parents and teachers is to remove the roadblocks that keep those gifts from being recognized, celebrated, and nurtured.”
Sessions with Something for Everyone – New and experienced homeschoolers alike will find inspiration with sessions on international travel, creative writing, college transcripts, screen time, and engineering. Explore multiple approaches to homeschooling such as Charlotte Mason, Waldorf, and Unit Studies. Dads will appreciate How Father Figures, a discussion designed just for them. The conference also offers several sessions on Beginning Homeschooling, where experienced homeschoolers will present information to help answer your questions. For a complete listing of sessions see www.VaHomeschoolers.org/2007Conference/sessions.asp.
Family Programming – As always, VaHomeschoolers invites families to join in the fun. Start the weekend off right with a Tropical Treats Ice Cream Party, Talent Show and Art Exhibition at the host hotel on Friday night. Take advantage of free admission to the Science Museum of Virginia for the day. Enjoy an amazing puppet show presented by a family of homeschooling puppeteers. Participate in the Passport to Adventure activity and enjoy games and crafts from around the world.

Help Spread the News
Experience has shown us that our best publicity is word of mouth. Help us spread the news about the Conference and Resource Fair by printing out our conference flyer and bringing it to your next local support group meeting or hanging it in a local library, recreation center, grocery store or Starbucks!
Share the excitement! Print the 2007 Conference Flyer: www.VaHomeschoolers.org/2007Conference/2007ConferenceFlyer.pdf
Pass it on! Help get the word out by forwarding this email to your local support group and all your homeschool friends!
Want to Help?
We are still looking for volunteers who want to get involved and help make this conference a success. As Shez Silverberg, the 2007 Conference Volunteer Coordinator explains: “I've attended many conferences and can say with confidence, that I have gotten far more out of the ones where I have volunteered to help them be a success than the ones I haven't. I have forged great friendships through volunteering for VaHomeschoolers. We're going to have a great conference and need your help to make it the outstanding success I know it will be.”
Come join in the fun! Meet and get to know other homeschoolers from all over the state and share in the sense of accomplishment that comes with helping present a conference of this magnitude. (And we’ll even throw in access to the Volunteer Hospitality Room which will provide lunch, snacks and drinks during the Conference on Saturday). We are looking for teens and adults alike!
Read more about volunteering and download a Conference Volunteer Application at www.VaHomeschoolers.org/2007Conference/volunteers.asp. Or email Shez Silverberg at Volunteers@vahomeschoolers.org.
