Early September Garden Pictures

Sedum is starting to bloom. This hosta has been really happy in mostly shade all summer.
I don't know what this plant is, but the flowers are pretty.
This shows more of the leaves, and the branches are arching.
We've got some infestation on the star magnolia. I'm pretty sure it's scale (info from Penn State). This is a mild case right now. I sprayed it with Oil Away a few weeks ago. In past years it's been much worse, but the tree doesn't seem to be suffering. From the Penn State link above, it looks like I'll need to spray again in the fall.
