We found our first egg today from the newest batch of chicks, so I suppose I really ought to start calling them hens now!
The egg on the left is probably from the hens that started laying last November/December. The one in the middle is from the new hens, and the green egg is from our last ameraucana, and we can't recall if she's 2 or 3 years old, but I think she's 3. She just went through a really quick molt, and laid a couple eggs that were kind of small, but this is about the normal size for her. The old hens get, the larger their eggs, generally.
Oh, and we haven't seen the snake in a long time, but a rat seems to have been visiting recently. Ugh.
