Organization of Virginia Homeschoolers Seminars

Here's an announcement for homeschoolers living in or near Virginia:

Find answers to your questions and the information you need to begin homeschooling at VaHomeschoolers' Beginning Homeschooling Seminar in Herndon, Virginia.

Learn about the legal avenues for homeschooling in Virginia, and get the full scoop on filing papers, homeschooling methods, curriculum options, common mistakes, options for testing and assessments, and more!

When is this happening, you ask? I'll tell you: Saturday, February 23, 2008,10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Wait, there's more!

VaHomeschoolers has speakers ready to come to your area and hold a seminar. We can present on a variety of topics ranging from Beginning Homeschooling to Preparing for College. The catch is we need local coordinators willing to reserve a location and handle the local details (set up, sign in, refreshments, take down...) VaHomeschoolers will handle the registration, the PR and provide the materials and the speakers. If you or your local co-op or support group are interested in hosting a seminar in your area, please send me at e-mail at info @ vahomeschoolers. org (no spaces) and we can work on it together!

VaHomeschoolers Seminar Coordinator

Barb also sent this info to the VaEclecticHS yahoo list:

The next one is scheduled for Richmond in April. We are hoping to schedule others in Hampton Roads and Charlottesville. [ . . . ] it looks very likely that we will have one in South Central Virginia in the South Hill area.

I scheduled last year's Beginning Homeschooling seminar in Charlottesville, and will likely do it again for the fall.
