Choreography Camp for Homeschoolers

I'm posting this for Kelly. Emily and I are both taking jazz classes with her and are really enjoying them. :) If I didn't mention this in an earlier post, Kelly and her husband Tom are homeschooling their three girls, also.

Creating Dances
A Choreography Camp for Homeschoolers

June 2-6, 2008

Ages 5-7, 11am-12 pm
Ages 8-16, 12-1:30 pm

Depending on enrollment classes may combined, and would run in the 11am time slot.

In this camp, students will learn techniques used to choreograph dance for an audience, and will create a short dance piece to show at the end of class on Friday. Students will be encouraged to work alone and in groups to create movement phrases, and collectively they will choose a piece of music and structure the choreography to be presented. Formal dance training is welcome but unnecessary; a love of movement and a desire to create dance is essential!
